Abstract

led to the isolation of five new oleanane-type saponins, named derristrifosides A-E (1-5). Their chemical structures were elucidated through comprehensive analyses of HR-ESI-MS and one-dimensional and two-dimensional NMR spectra. These new saponins possess a cantoniensistriol-type sapogenin framework, which is rarely found in vascular plants. Compounds 1-5 exhibited weak inhibitory activity against nitric oxide (NO) production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells and weak antiproliferative activity against SK-LU-1 and Hep-G2 human cancer cell lines.
