Upcycle to recycle: triglyceride-derived magnesium soaps as stable, sustainable and efficient catalysts for poly(ethylene terephthalate) glycolysis
Abstract
Magnesium soaps are capable of promoting PET glycolysis with performance comparable to the most active literature systems. Optimal fatty acid-derived ligand chain lengths are identified and catalysts from (waste) cooking oil are highly active.
