Formaldehyde electrolysis in a membrane-free electrolyzer: low-energy hydrogen and formate co-production with Cu-based boride electrocatalysts
Abstract
B/Cu x O/CF electrocatalyst drives formaldehyde oxidation at 0.06 V (100 mA cm −2 ), achieving ∼97% formate and reducing energy demand by ∼1.64 V while doubling H 2 output.
