Electro-chemo-mechanical failure in cobalt-free high-nickel cathodes: common degradation of polycrystalline and single-crystal morphologies in halide-based all-solid-state batteries
Abstract
Cobalt-free high-nickel LiNi 0.9 Mn 0.1 O 2 cathodes show a common failure mode in halide ASSBs regardless of morphology. H2–H3 lattice contraction induces interfacial voids, severing ionic pathways and overshadowing the benefits of single-crystal design.
