Abstract

Efficient synthetic routes to 3- and 4-amino/iodo 1,8-naphthalimide derivatives were developed. Moreover, the influence of the substitution position (3- or 4-) and bond type (–C–C– or –N=C–) on optical properties of the naphthalimide derivatives was investigated.
