Abstract

Two highly symmetrical fluoride-bridged lanthanide clusters [Ln 6 (μ 2 -F) 12 (μ 6 -F)(12-crown-4) 6 ]I 3 F 2 (Ln = Ho and Er) encapsulating a fluoride ion at the centre of the clusters were synthesized using AgBF 4 as the fluoride source.
