A universal size-controllable top-down synthesis of nanomaterials via electrospray
Abstract
A universal strategy for size-controllable (1-100 nm) production of nanomaterials was achieved by tuning the conductivity of the electrospraying solvent, using but not limited to quartz, diamond, and metals as a feedstock. Theoretical and experimental analyses reveal a mechanism where conductivity-regulated tangential electrical stress drives proton-induced lattice slip and hydrolysis.
