Abstract

transfer reaction with carboxylate salts is described. By altering the reaction conditions either N-H or C3-H carboxylation can occur. The reaction is also applicable to the carboxylation of other indole derivatives and amines. The relevance of this procedure is further demonstrated through the preparation and carbon isotope labelling of several biologically relevant carboxylated indoles/amines.
