From rapid corrosion to clinical use: coating technologies for magnesium-based orthopedic implants
Abstract
Mg alloys are promising for orthopedic fixation due to bone-like modulus and biodegradability, yet corrosion, hydrogen evolution, and alkalinity impair bone healing. Surface coatings regulate interfacial reactions and enhance biocompatibility.
