Abstract

Monitoring C 2 –C 4 alkene interactions with Cu/H-ZSM-5 zeolites reveals that alkenes form detectable π-complexes with Cu + and Cu 2+ sites. The alkene interaction with Cu 2+ sites at 296 K results in the partial reduction of copper to the Cu + state.
