Abstract

A 1,1′-binaphthyl-based supramolecular hydrogel enables highly selective, naked-eye detection of Th 4+ . Its carboxyl groups form a 1 : 1 complex with Th 4+ , triggering specific gel collapse distinct from 24 other metal ions.
