Abstract

This paper first introduces the importance of seismic wave propagation simulation and its application background in civil engineering, and then expounds in detail the construction of 3D seismic wave propagation simulation model based on high performance computing (HPC) technology, including model design, medium parameter setting, boundary condition treatment and numerical solution method. The complex geological structure, multi-type seismic wave propagation and nonlinear effects are comprehensively considered in this model, which is discretized by finite difference method (FDM), and the parallel computing mode of MPI+OpenMP is adopted to realize efficient calculation. In the experimental verification part, the accuracy and applicability of the model are verified by simulating the response of multi-storey building frame structure under different earthquake conditions. The results show that the HPC model can effectively capture the key features of seismic waves, such as P-wave, S-wave and nonlinear effects, and has good applicability and stability under various seismic wave conditions and geological structures.
