Island grid frequency control method using HVDC system connected to remote island in coordination with synchronous generator
Abstract
This paper examines the feasibility of maintaining frequency and power supply–demand balance on an island by implementing a frequency control scheme for HVDC systems. The study assumes the implementation of load frequency control (LFC) in HVDC links connecting renewable-rich islands to the mainland.
