Abstract

The next generation of 5G promises in providing a high data rate, low latency and significant spectral efficiency by using millimetre-waves spectrum initially in the field of mobile communication facilities. The mm-Waves have been proposed to enable transition from the Fourth generation 4G to the fifth generation. The main objectives of this study are: Verifying climate data recorded via satellite of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA( and see the possibility of using them in the future design of wireless communication networks at the proposed frequencies 28/38/60/73 GHz in fifth generation 5G for both Line of sight (LoS) and None Line of Sight (NLoS) environments in Urban Microcell (Umi) scenario. The area of study was at (Khanaqueen) city in Diyala governorate at Iraq. New York Simulation NYUSIM and MATLAB are used to simulate and analysing the received power. The results of validation showed that the range of distance differences was (11-35) meters, while the differences in Transmission (Tx) power was (0.5-1-5) dBm. This requires an equation to adapt the satellite data to emulate with ground weather station data, so A Linear model has been derived based on a ground weather station to allow using satellite data in future planning of 5G networks for the regions that lack ground weather stations.
