Abstract

This paper proposes an improved isolated Weinberg topology with multiple push-pull transformers for high-voltage, high-power DC-DC conversion in space-based solar power systems. Averaged model of improved topology is developed for system-level analysis. A dual-loop model predictive control (MPC) strategy based on differential method was designed to enhance input-series-output-parallel (ISOP) converter performance with coordinated voltage decoupling. The implemented five-module ISOP system increases the input voltage tolerance and output power capability. A voltage-sharing-and-decoupling control strategy achieves balanced power distribution, reducing power device stress and improving system reliability. The simulation results verify the effectiveness and stability of the proposed control strategy.
