Abstract

Battery management system (BMS) serves as a critical component ensuring safe and stable operation of portable energy storage devices. To address traditional BMS limitations in fault detection and insufficient system protection, this study proposes a high-reliability BMS optimization design. The hardware layer achieves precise monitoring of cell voltage and current while integrating over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, short-circuit, and temperature protection mechanisms. The software layer employs adaptive cell balancing strategies and fault diagnosis logic to enhance system stability and battery lifespan. Experimental results from a portable energy storage prototype demonstrate the system's outstanding performance in abnormal response speed, balancing capability, and operational reliability. These findings provide technical references for optimizing BMS design in portable energy storage devices.
