Abstract

With the further development of renewable energy systems, single-stage isolated AC–DC converters exhibit promising applications in on-board chargers and energy storage due to their high power-conversion efficiency and high-power density. In this paper, to further improve the power-conversion efficiency and to achieve high power factor operation with less input current distortion, a single-phase interleaved totem-pole-based single-stage isolated converter is designed. A simple but effective control strategy is developed in which both the current and voltage regulation loops are governed by a prescribed performance control (PPC) framework. The proposed scheme explicitly constrains the transient tracking error within certain bounds, which provides fast dynamic response, robustness to parameter variations, and high steady-state power-quality performance. By means of a PPC-based dual-loop architecture, the converter achieves improved efficiency, reduced harmonic distortion, and guaranteed control accuracy over a wide operating range. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness and superior performance of the proposed method.
