Abstract

Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is an essential tool for evaluating cardiac function and guiding management because it gives both functional and anatomical information.1, 2 Rescue TEE is a subcategory in which TEE is used in a hemodynamically unstable patient to guide diagnostic and interventional support in the peri-arrest setting. Compared to transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), Rescue TEE provides higher-resolution imaging, better visualization of posterior cardiac structures, and the unique advantage of being usable during uninterrupted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
