Abstract

New Insights and the Importance for the Pediatric SurgeonIn this case, a patient with rare anomaly-cloaca with urethral atresia-is presented, highlighting the importance of preoperative investigations to understand the anatomy to plan the best surgical management.It is rare that the urinary system in a cloaca must be diverted in the newborn period, but urethral atresia is one such situation.
