Homeopathic Treatment of 69 Patients Who Developed Symptoms after COVID-19 Vaccination
Abstract
Background: In recent years, the homeopathic community has observed an increase in cases that appear related to COVID-19 vaccination. According to Pfizer’s own study, COVID-19 vaccines can increase the risk of serious adverse events. An effective treatment strategy for vaccination side effects is necessary. Homeopathy is promising, as it is known to be effective in the treatment of vaccination side effects. Objective: We tested the hypothesis that the intensity of symptoms, which developed after COVID-19 vaccination, can be considerably reduced by applying classical homeopathy. Methods: We collected 69 cases treated in homeopathic practices that collaborate with the SHI Homeopathic School, in which symptoms developed shortly after one of the COVID-19 vaccinations. The cases were analysed, repertorised, and described as case studies. Results: The 69 patients suffered from a variety of COVID-19 vaccination side effects, like depression, fatigue syndrome, myocarditis, pneumonia, vertigo, paraesthesia, renal insufficiency, and amenorrhea. On average, the patients had suffered from these symptoms for 6 months, and the treatment period was 2 months. In 75% of the cases, the symptoms deriving from COVID-19 vaccination were healed completely, and 25% improved strongly. Carcinosinum (14%) and Medorrhinum (13%) were the remedies prescribed most frequently. Silicea and Sulphur were used in 12 and 9% of the cases, respectively. In 10% of the cases, one of the COVID-19 vaccine nosodes was prescribed. Conclusion: The intensity of symptoms deriving from COVID-19 vaccination can be reduced by applying classical homeopathy. Prescriptions based on the individual symptoms and characteristics of the patient were successful. The COVID-19 vaccination nosodes were applied in cases where mainly new symptoms developed after the COVID-19 vaccination. Otherwise, Carcinosinum , Medorrhinum , Silicea, and Sulphur were prescribed most frequently. The study could open new perspectives in the treatment of patients suffering from COVID-19 vaccination side effects. However, further studies on a larger scale are needed.
