Endoscopic Endonasal Transcavernous Resection of a Chondrosarcoma Involving the Posterior Compartment of the Cavernous Sinus
Abstract
A 21-year-old female with a chondrosarcoma of the left cavernous sinus underwent endoscopic endonasal transcavernous resection. The surgical approach provided a wide exposure by extensive bone drilling. Key surgical steps included sequentially transecting cavernous sinus ligaments to mobilize the internal carotid artery, enabling safe en bloc removal of the heavily calcified tumor. Postoperative imaging confirmed gross total resection with no complications. Publication History Article published online: 27 February 2026 © 2026. Thieme. All rights reserved.
