Abstract

In this video we show a middle cranial fossa encephalocele repair. We showcase the smaller craniotomy adapted for this procedure. Most importantly, we show our reconstructive technique for skull base defects, which includes two layers of AlloDerm which are impregnated with HydroSet bone cement, and a third reconstructive layer using the patient’s own craniotomy bone flap. This video also highlights the simplicity and efficiency of this procedure. Publication History Article published online: 27 February 2026 © 2026. Thieme. All rights reserved.
