Study on the Pressure Relief Effect of Diamond-Beaded Rope Saw Cutting in Low-Permeability Coal Seam Considering Gas Pressure
Abstract
Gas pressure plays a significant role in the numerical simulation of diamond-beaded rope saw cutting in low-permeability coal seams. The study investigates the changes in displacement, stress, and gas pressure fields of the cutting seam and analyzes the role of gas in relieving pressure in the coal seam. The pressure relief mechanism is explained from new perspectives, including coal staged deformation, extreme ground stress transfer, high-pressure air mass dissipation, and gas lock effect relief. The results indicate that coal deformation under gas pressure consists of rebound and contraction deformation. The cutting process provides ample space for coal deformation while disrupting poor structural integrity, effectively alleviating extreme ground stress from poor structural factors. Cutting high-pressure air mass with a rope saw benefits the average coal seam gas pressure and reduces the risk of outbursts. Gas seepage along the slot channel releases the locking effect of coalbed methane, facilitating the release and transfer of coal stress.
