Atomic structure calculations of singly ionized vanadium
Abstract
The multi-configuration Hartree–Fock method, combined with the configuration interaction approach using non-orthogonal orbitals and B-splines as basis functions, was employed to study the atomic structure of singly ionized vanadium. Energy levels of the ground and 61 lower excited states were calculated within the scope of the non-relativistic LS coupling approximation. The calculation results are in good agreement with the available experimental data. The obtained sets of wave functions can be used in subsequent studies of photoionization and electron scattering by vanadium ions.
