Robustness and monotonicity of a similarity-based reasoning fuzzy inference mechanism
Abstract
Similarity-based reasoning (SBR) is one of the well-established fuzzy inference mechanisms which is widespread in the literature. An inference mechanism is required to have some properties to be an acceptable inference mechanism that can be used in an application. Robustness and monotonicity are two of the major desirable properties of an inference mechanism. In this work, we determine the conditions on different operations involved in an SBR inference mechanism that allows it to enjoy the above-mentioned properties.
