A review on prediction of the tribological properties of aluminum welded by friction stir welding (FSW) using the ANFIS method
Abstract
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is used to join high-strength aluminum alloys and metal materials that are difficult to join through the traditional smelting process. This research aims to study the effect of friction stir welding process parameters (tool rotation speed, load, and welding speed) on the tensile strength, hardness, and microstructure of similar welded joints of aluminum alloys (AA7075-T73). The parameters used are (1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500) rpm; (100, 120, 150, 170, 20) mm/min; and (550, 650, 1000, 1100, 1300). The Taguchi Method L25 was used to identify the most effective parameters of the welding process, and the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) method was used to predict the tribological properties of aluminum welded by friction stir welding (FSW). It was obtained on the better tensile strength, hardness, and microstructure at (1500 rpm, 170 mm/min, and 1300 N), respectively (380.5 MPa, 160 Hv). This research reviews a set of research on friction stir welding of aluminum alloys.
