The feasibility of videogrammetric measurements to monitor deformations in vibrated civil engineering structures: A review study
Abstract
The structural deformation components utilized in civil engineering have been the focus of numerous studies in recent years. Most of these studies have utilized photogrammetric methods to quantify the structural deformity. Since the technique relies on overlapping photos captured at different times, and since the overlapping process and the relationship between the qualities and symptoms of the images is exponential, it necessitates a great deal of processing time and, subsequently, expensive processing equipment. The dynamic behavior of moving objects has been studied by several researchers using video cameras and a novel video measurement strategy. When it comes to keeping an eye on moving structures, videogrammetry main used to provide a highly accurate vibration measurement. For this reason, this study presents a literature overview of research that has utilized photogrammetric or videogrammetric techniques to track and collect 3D data of in-motion objects. The study also provides a synopsis of available methodologies and primary results following this approach. To sum up, the videogrammetric method is a powerful tool for keeping tabs on and studying the 3D motion of active objects.
