Abstract

The more science and technology develop, the more they encourage researchers to create food from animal sources based on ASUH (Safe, Healthy, Whole, and Halal). Nowadays, the use of lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is a multi-purpose herb that is cheap, safe and has the opportunity to be used as a herbal additive to improve performance in broiler poultry. The research was carried out at the Lampung State Polytechnic Livestock Cage. This research used 100 Day Old Chick (DOC) of the Ross strain. The experimental design used is a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of Four treatments with Five replications, each replication containing Five birds. T0= Control (without giving Cymbopogon citratus extract); T1= Giving Cymbopogon citratus (Cc), extract 100 gr Cc/100 ml water (giving 10 ml water diet/L water); T2= Giving Cymbopogon citratus (Cc), extract 200 gr Cc /100 ml water (giving 10 water diet mL/L water); and T3= Giving Cymbopogon citratus Cc), extract 300 gr Cc/100 ml water (giving 10 ml water diet/L water). Based on the research, giving Cymbopogon citratus (Cc) extract in drinking water has a significant effect on carcass weight and the percentage of carcass weight of birds. The best treatment is T1.
