Abstract

Variations in plants can occur due to many factors, namely mutations, adaptations, plant development, gene factors and the environment. In Tribudi Syukur Village, there are types of coffee that are widely cultivated, including robusta coffee plants, local clones. Morphological characterization of robusta coffee is also needed as a determinant of kinship that exists in the land of farmers in Tribudi Syukur Village. Important coffee plant cultivation techniques are seeding, land clearing and preparation, shade planting, coffee planting and planting preparation, maintenance, and harvest and post-harvest handling [1]. Coffee plant maintenance activities include diving, weed control, fertilization, pruning, and pest and disease control [2]. The objectives of this research are: 1) Describe the morphological characters of 2 local clones of robusta coffee grown in Tribudi Syukur Village, West Lampung. 2). Know the types of shade tree plants used on farmers’ land, and 3). Know the maintenance performed. This study used samples of 2 robusta coffee plants grown in the agricultural land of Tribudi Syukur Village, Lampung Bjhhhhh2narat, namely: Rope Dora (RD) and Rope Dale (RD), the research was carried out in March-July 2023. The method used observation of morphological characters and interview methods for additional data. Morphological variation data and interview results were analyzed descriptively on coffee morphological characters based on the guidelines of the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI) [3] coffee descriptor. Quantitative data is analyzed statistically using simple statistics. The results showed that there were morphological differences between Rope Dora robusta coffee clones and local Rope dale clones.
