Abstract

Greywater is wastewater that contains a lot of fat and soap, so it requires initial processing to be reused as an alternative source of agricultural water. Greywater contains dissolved contaminants such as organic and inorganic materials from residual waste from kitchen sinks, sinks, and bathroom floor drains. However, this dissolved contamination can be removed before it becomes a water source for agriculture. So simple processing is needed to convert greywater into an agricultural water source. One simple way is to add coagulants and flocculants to reduce dissolved contamination in greywater. In this research, the behavior of coagulants and flocculants will be analyzed in the processing of greywater to become a source of water in agriculture. In this research, simple processing is carried out to convert greywater into a source of agricultural water. One simple way is to add coagulants and flocculants to reduce dissolved contamination in greywater. The coagulants and flocculants in greywater processing used in this research are Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC) and Polyacrylamide (PAM). PAC coagulant can degrade dissolved solids up to 50% of the initial dissolved solids of greywater. Meanwhile, the PAM flocculant is capable of degrading dissolved solids up to 52%. So based on the analysis of PAC and PAM behavior, coagulants and flocculants are used together to reduce total solids in greywater. The reaction time of PAC and PAM did not affect the degradation of dissolved solids in greywater.
