Abstract

Groundwater is a valuable resource that is decreasing worldwide as demand increases. As the population increases, surface water is not enough to meet the demand, so system planning and modern technology are important to manage this important resource. Evaluation of groundwater resources is important in terms of water quality and system management. Thematic maps of geology, topography, soil, slope, flow, topography, land use/land cover were examined using the weight index layer to define land areas in ArcGIS. Topographic Survey of India and Landsat-8 imagery provides tools to create thematic systems such as lithology, slope, land use, topography, runoff, soil and rainfall and convert them into raster’s using ArcGIS tools. Use the weighting parameter to assign scores and weights to raster maps. According to statistics along with the gravity layer, groundwater can be divided into poor, good and very good. A map of the potential groundwater area can assist in planning and management of groundwater in the study area.
