Abstract

According to the Central Statistics Agency, poverty is the inability of a person to meet the bare necessities of existence. Another name for poverty is a state in which one’s standard needs, including for food and non-food items, fall below what is sometimes referred to as the poverty line. One of the issues Indonesia continues to face is poverty. One of the development objectives is poverty because it is a multifaceted and intricate issue. One of the measures taken by the Indonesian government to lessen development inequality is the relocation of the National Capital (IKN) to Kalimantan, more especially East Kalimantan Province. It is envisaged that IKN’s relocation to Kalimantan will boost the fields of infrastructure development, economic growth, health, and education. The method used in the research is K-Means Clustering and the optimal cluster obtained is 4 clusters of districts/cities in Kalimantan. Cluster 1 have 12 regency/cities, cluster 2 have 20 regency/cities, cluster 3 with 8 regency/cities, and cluster 4 with 16 regency/cities. Regency/cities in East Kalimantan Province are dominantly in cluster 1, districts/cities in North Kalimantan Province are dominantly in clusters 1 and 2, districts/cities in South Kalimantan Province are dominantly in cluster 2, districts/cities in West Kalimantan Province are dominantly in cluster 3 and districts/cities in Central Kalimantan Province have the same proportion between cluster 2 and cluster 4.
