Abstract

Dyslexia is a neurological and neurodevelopmental disorder which affects the human being’s most important superpower-the mode of communication. Be it reading, writing or even spelling, deficits arise in auditory and phonetic parsing in case of severe dyslexic patients. An interesting fact is that people with this disease are very intelligent. Famous celebrities like Steve Jobs, Leonardo da Vinci and even Albert Einstein suffered from Dyslexia and overcame it after continuous therapy and continuous practice. People with Dyslexia require continuous monitoring throughout the day and encouragement in order to learn. This is the main objective of this research, to provide support and encouragement that they need through an AI-automated gamified educational platform. To personalise the journey of education, the gamified platform uses a hybrid version of several Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and Machine Learning techniques combined with the reward-based system of Reinforcement learning (RL) to provide feedback and recommendations to the user. The platform’s findings help analysing the severity of dyslexia and customises the learning experience for each individual.
