Abstract

The aim of this research is to obtain quality shrimp rearing results, to determine the growth performance at the optimum density for white shrimp culture in marine floating net cages. The target to be achieved is research results that can be applied directly by the community related to the development of science in the field of fisheries, especially the development of shrimp cultiure technology in marine floating net cages. The research stages carried out trials of several different methods of 300 in m−2, 350 in m−2 and 400 in m−2 in determining the optimum stocking density in shrimp culture in marine floating net cages. The white shrimp used had an average weight of 1.0±0.05 g and a length of 5.0±0.03 cm, originating from a household scale hatchery. White shrimp were reared for 90 days, feed with a protein content of 34%, feeding frekwensi four times a day and 10% Feeding Rate. Measurement of water quality and sampling of shrimp growth is carried out every 10 days. The results of the production performance analysis showed that the 300 in m−2 stocking density treatment had better survival and feed conversion ratios compared to other treatments, namely 60.33% and 1.38 respectively.
