Synbiotic implementation in broiler rearing: Its effect on the biological response of broilers
Abstract
Symbiotic are a combination of probiotics and prebiotics. Probiotics and prebiotics work synergistically and are thought to have a similar function to Antibiotic Growth Promoter (AGP). The synergistic performance of both has the effect of improving the health status of the broiler’s digestive tract. The aim of this research is to determine the optimal level of probiotics and prebiotics and their effect on the biological response of broilers. The materials used consisted of commercial rations, 96 unsexed DOC heads, drinking water, LAB, Banana Peel Flour (BPF), digital scales, colony cages 12 units 150x150x50 cm, feed and drink containers. Rearing is carried out for 24 days. The design used in this research was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments. P1= BPF 0%+Probiotics 1.5 ml/l of water: P2= BPF 5%+Probiotics 1.5 ml/l of water and P3= BPF 7.5%+Probiotics 1.5 ml/l of water. Each treatment was repeated 4 times, each experimental unit consisted of 8 chickens. Performance data as an indicator of broiler biological response includes: consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion and mortality. The data was tested using analysis of variance (Anova). If it has a real effect, continue with the Duncan Test. Data analysis using SPSS 20 for Windows. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that: implementation of synbiotics up to the level of 7.5% BPF and 1.5 ml LAB Serum has not had a significant effect on consumption levels, body weight gain and broiler ration conversion.
