Prevalence of parasites and diseases of river catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus) juvenile at different stocking densities
Abstract
The development and sustainability of River catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus) juvenile often face obstacles. One of them is when there is a disease attack both infectious and non-infectious diseases. One system for controlling disease in juvenil is to regularly collect data and report disease incidents in fish culture, so that accurate data is obtained regarding the incidence of a disease in fish culture. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of parasites and diseases that attack the juvenile of H. nemurus and obtain the optimal stocking density of fish in nursery activities of H. nemurus. The best research results were found in treatment A with a disease prevalence of 23% and a fish survival rate of 91%. There are six types of parasites that infect H. nemurus juvenile, namely Trichodina sp, Ichtyophtirius multifiliis, Dactylogyrus sp, Gyrodactylus sp, Lernaea sp, and Acanthocephala.
