Regional variation in phytonematode communities in grape vineyards of Fergana valley
Abstract
In the article given information about the phytonematode community in grapevine vineyards across the Fergana Valley, focusing on the Andijan and Fergana regions. The research, conducted in 2022-2023, involved the collection and analysis of 400 soil samples from grapevine roots, specifically targeting the "Husayne" and "Soviet table grape" varieties. The results identified 22 nematode species across 20 genus with herbivorous nematodes presenting the greatest threat to viticulture. The study found that the Plant Parasitic Index (PPI) was highest in the Husayne vineyards of Andijan due to the abundance of Helicotylenchus multicinctus, Xiphinema index, Meloidogyne arenaria, and Meloidogyne incognita. Additionally, differences in nematode community structure were observed between local and imported grape varieties, with the Andijan region showing a higher occurrence of nematodes and a lower Predator Index compared to the Fergana region. These findings underscore the importance of region-specific pest management strategies to mitigate the impact of nematodes on grapevine health and productivity.
