Assessing the impact of Theretra alecto on vineyards through photosynthesis rate analysis
Abstract
In the article given information about the impact of Theretra alecto larvae on grapevine photosynthesis, focusing on vineyards in Samarkand region of Uzbekistan. Results demonstrated that larval feeding significantly reduced the photosynthetic rate of grapevine leaves, particularly during the L3 and L4 stages of larval development. The reduction in photosynthesis was associated with decreased stomatal conductance and transpiration rates, leading to impaired physiological functions of the grapevines. The study also highlighted the critical role of temperature and humidity in larval development, identifying optimal conditions for T. alecto growth. These findings underline the importance of targeted pest management strategies, emphasizing the need for early detection and control measures to mitigate the economic impact of T. alecto on vineyards.
