Abstract

One of the most significant and widely recognized works in chaos theory pertains to chaos-based information encryption. This study proposed a chaotic system with fractional orders, characterized by its flexible and rich dynamics. We investigate and analyze the chaotic behavior of the proposed system numerically using various analytical tools, including phase plots, bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponents, and entropy. These tools help examine the dynamics of the designed system and assess the impact and sensitivity of the fractional orders on its behavior. In the experimental and practical aspects, we present a dynamic image encryption algorithm based on the proposed chaotic system and the logistic map. The dynamics of this algorithm make position changes highly sensitive to the chaotic sequence associated with pixel values of the image, where even minor alterations lead to entirely different outcomes. Additionally, the experimental results and security analyses indicate that the proposed algorithm achieves effective encryption and can withstand common attacks.
