Abstract

Food waste is a significant issue in restaurants, contributing to both environmental and financial concerns. This study aims to address the problem of food waste in restaurants by using intelligent systems to bring more benefits to businesses. Our model's objective is to predict the amount of food wasted based on key factors such as food quality, number of guests, occasion type, venue size, and meal timing (e.g., breakfast, lunch, dinner). By minimizing the amount of wasted food, the model helps reduce costs for both restaurants and individuals. Using a machine learning algorithm, we predict the quantity of food wasted for various events, given these parameters. The results show that our model effectively predicates the appropriate quantity of food, contributing to significant cost savings and reducing food waste.
