Abstract

In the current world of great advancement in technology, security systems involving AI and computer vision have enhanced vehicle and LPR massively. In this paper the author describes the potential of deep learning to further improve LPR systems, accuracy, and real time processing and its application in various scenarios. Advantages including enhanced safety, efficiency, and thereby reasonable charges added to automated services are specified; Deep learning algorithms including CNNs, YOLO, and RNNs used in LPR are provided. This paper reviews the prior empirical studies, datasets, and algorithms to discuss the developments and challenges encountered in the field and to understand the prospects for enhancing LPR systems for traffic flow, law enforcement, and parking issues. This is important for the efficiency of LPR and for enhancing the recognition accuracy of characters and vehicles to be optionally requisite for the modern security systems.
