Abstract

Electrolysis is an important process in the production of alkalinee and acid water, which is influenced by various factors, including the applied voltage and TDS level. In this research, linear regression analysis is used to identify the relationship between these variables and the resulting electrolysis current. The data used consists of TDS, voltage and electrolysis current values measured under various experimental conditions. A linear regression model was built to predict current based on voltage and TDS, and model evaluation was performed using performance metrics such as Mean Squared Error (MSE) and R-squared. Electrolysis equipment has been designed or made from electrode materials made from cheaper materials, namely stainless steel and carbon graphite. The electrolysis instrumentation system designed a maximum fixed volume of 1.4 liters. The container is divided into two for the anode and cathode sides separated by a membrane. The size of the anode container which produces acid water is 200 ml, and the cathode which produces acid water is 1200 ml. There are 9 combinations, each combination of voltage and TDS. Five types of mineral water were tested with varying TDS values of 124, 150, 163, 329, and 649 ppm. The voltage produced by solar modules also varies from 10.7 to 69 volts. The duration of electrolysis for each experiment is 1 hour. The analysis results show that both voltage and TDS have a significant influence on electrolysis current. TDS has a greater influence on electric current compared to voltage, with TDS coefficient value of 0.54, voltage coefficient of 0.44, and intercept (current starting point) of 69.2 milliamperes.
