Impact of growth regulators on the vegetation period of Glycine max (L.) Merr.
Abstract
The duration of the vegetation period represents a critical factor in the cultivation of soybeans, particularly in the context of varying climatic conditions. This study examines the impact of different growth regulators on the vegetation period of Glycine max (L.) Merr. in the non-Chernozem zone of Russia. In particular, the influence of various growth regulators, including Agat 25, Amir, Albit and Albit 3, on the duration of the growing season was assessed in a range of soybean varieties. The findings demonstrate that the implementation of these growth regulators influenced the length of the growing season. Among the varieties tested, the shortest vegetation periods were observed in SibNIIK-315 and Line 52-M, while the longest were observed in Magewa. It is noteworthy that the application of the Amir biopreparation resulted in an extension of the growing season by up to 12 days in comparison to the control group. These findings underscore the potential of growth regulators to optimize soybean cultivation practices by effectively modifying the vegetation period, thereby enhancing the adaptability of soybean varieties to a range of climatic conditions. The findings of this research contribute valuable insights for the improvement of soybean production efficiency in the non-Chernozem zone of Russia, providing a pathway for the implementation of more resilient agricultural practices.
