Evaluation of filtration reduction technologies in earthen channels
Abstract
The article analyzes technologies for using anti-filtration materials to prevent water loss due to filtration in irrigation networks. It is observed that the lack of practical and theoretical research on technologies for preventing water seepage in soil-bed canals, as well as the outdated nature of existing research data, hinders the search for innovative solutions to this pressing issue. A significant portion of inter-farm internal networks in irrigation systems consists of soil-bed canals. The average efficiency of irrigation networks remains low, leading to rising groundwater levels due to substantial water losses during their use. The relevance of this topic lies in the need to develop and study new methods and materials for creating coatings that prevent water seepage in irrigation systems, which is crucial for the rational use of water resources. Developing a new, cost-effective coating technology using materials readily available within the irrigation system itself is considered a necessity of the time. This article also presents an analysis of technologies that have been used in recent years and describes the technology for applying the proposed material.
