Load, speed, and thermal modes of diesel
Abstract
The article presents the results of the analysis and search for solutions to improve performance under the influence of natural and climatic factors on the operation of the internal combustion engine, as well as the need to improve the operation of a diesel engine under unsteady external conditions. Insufficiency of theoretical and experimental data, and some contradiction in the research results, as well as the lack of research on stabilizing energy-economic indicators by deforming high-speed diesel engines with an increase in the torque reserve, does not allow direct practical use of this simple method for improving diesel operation under unsteady external conditions. The purpose of the research is to ensure high power-economic indicators of units with diesel engines, ensuring low cost of the work they perform. These works do not allow us to identify universal methods for stabilizing power-economic indicators. However, it can be considered established that the means of achieving this goal are to ensure such a synthesis of the motor-transmission unit, in which the diesel is maximally protected from the influence of external load fluctuations and the probability of its operation in transient modes is reduced to a minimum. Research on tractor diesel engines without supercharging of the influence of transient load on power-economic indicators are works, the authors of which are basically unanimous in the opinion that with an increase in the nominal torque reserve factor, the dynamic performance of the engine improves. The minimum torque reserve for tractor diesel engines should be 15 … 18%;
