Indicators of heat resistance in morphological forms of wheat
Abstract
As a result of global climate change and an increase in the average monthly air temperature by 1.5°C, sharp changes are occurring in agriculture. For irrigated regions with low water availability, it is necessary to create new high-yielding wheat varieties with low water requirements. Due to the sharp increase in air temperature during the grain-filling period of wheat in the southern regions, grain productivity decreases. Many studies have examined lines created in various soil and climatic conditions. This article presents data on heat resistance properties and physiological signs of heat tolerance, such as the inclination angle of the flag leaf, leaf length and width. While the leaf's ability to retain water in the plant, acceleration of the photosynthesis process, and accumulation of organic substances are important factors for obtaining a rich and high-quality harvest, physiological features such as the length of the upper and lower internodes and plant height are found in various combinations in the composition of varieties and lines and are influenced by specific genes. During our experiment, varieties and lines were selected based on these characteristics and qualities.
