Development of augmented reality-based learning media for building space material in grade 5 elementary school students
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to produce and test the effectiveness of AR-based learning media that aims to improve the mastery of elementary school students in 3D shape volume material. Augmented reality (AR) is a recently emerging technology that provides an engaging and interactive learning environment, which allows students to visualize 3D shapes, in turn improving their visualization of abstract mathematical objects and spatial skills. The purpose of this study is to describe the development etc. to analyze the results of validation tests and AR learning media testing in aspect volume material. This research method is a development method or Research and Development (R&D) with the waterfall development model consist 4 phases which is analysis phase, design phase, coding stage and testing stage. The results of expert validation materials obtained a percentage of 98.45%; thus the media augmented reality that is created is very valid to use. The findings of the media expert validation obtained a percentage of 97,72%; therefore the augmented reality media developed is very valid to be used. N-Gain analysis of pretest and posttest results using effectiveness criteria obtained an average score of 0,734 with high criteria. Thus, AR learning media based on volume material can be used as a medium of learning.
