Abstract

This study analyses the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in supporting sustainability learning in government institutions. By utilizing AI’s ability to process big data, analyse patterns, and provide personalized recommendations, this study aims to understand how AI can improve government capacity in achieving sustainable development goals. This study uses a qualitative approach with the object of research being the public sector or government institutions in Indonesia that have implemented AI in the decision-making process related to sustainability. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with decision makers and direct observation. The data obtained were then analysed thematically to identify factors that influence the success of AI implementation. The results of the study show that AI has great potential in supporting sustainability learning in government institutions, including: first, AI can help the government understand public perceptions of environmental and social policies, so that they can formulate more responsive policies. Second, the AI model can predict the environmental impact of various development projects, so that the government can take preventive action earlier. Third, AI can analyse employee performance data and training needs, so that training programs can be tailored to individual needs. Fourth, AI can provide data-based recommendations to support better decision-making related to sustainability issues.
