On DUS transformation lindley distribution: An application on real data sets with algorithm and matlab code
Abstract
The DUS transformation is a novel technique for developing new distributions. In this article, we will apply this new approach to improve the performance of a well-known Lindley distribution. Survival and hazard rate with their shape will be discussed too. A number of structural properties of this distribution such as moments, moment generating function, are derived and the Quantile function is given too. In addition, the parameters of the proposed distribution will be estimated by Maximum Likelihood Estimation method. The developed distribution will be tested with real data sets for real-life examples.
