Abstract

The study examined environmental changes in the chemical and physical properties of soils located near the Syrdarya Thermal Power Plant in the city of Shirin, Syrdarya region, Republic of Uzbekistan. The ecological state of soils due to the spread of waste from the Syrdarya Thermal Power Plant along the wind direction was analyzed. In addition, scientific approaches have been developed to extract soil samples from the vicinity of thermal power plants. It has been determined that changes in the pH environment of soils distributed in the region have been observed due to the operation of the Syrdarya Thermal Power Plant. The analyzed soils showed that some chemical elements exceeded the permissible limits, including arsenic (As) by 4.2 times, chromium (Cr) by 2.5 times, lead (Rb) by 3.7 times, and zinc (Zn) by 4.8 times.
